Privacy Policy

How we handle information shared through our website.

Effective date: October 12, 2026

1. Introduction

Recovery NM is a New Mexico nonprofit dedicated to helping residents overcome financial barriers to substance use disorder treatment through scholarship support. This policy explains how information may be collected, used, and shared when you visit our website, contact us, or donate.

2. Information You Provide

When you submit our contact form or email us, we receive information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, reason for contacting us, and message. Please do not send medical records, Social Security numbers, insurance identification numbers, or detailed health information through our general contact form or ordinary email.

3. Donations and Payment Services

Our website may link to PayPal for donations. When you use a third-party payment service, that provider handles payment information under its own privacy policy. Recovery NM may receive donation details and contact information made available by the provider for acknowledgments, accounting, and donor communications. Review the payment provider’s privacy terms before donating.

4. Website Hosting, Cookies, and Analytics

Our website is hosted using Netlify and may use technical logs, cookies, or similar technologies needed for site operation, security, and performance. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic and improve our outreach. Google Analytics may use cookies and collect information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser information, referral sources, and website interactions. This information is processed by Google under its privacy practices. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, medical details, or scholarship application information to Google Analytics. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and learn about Google’s data practices at Google’s Privacy Policy. If we introduce additional advertising measurement tools, we will update this notice as appropriate.

5. How We Use Information

We use information to answer inquiries, provide information about scholarships and partnerships, administer donations, maintain records, operate and secure the website, improve our outreach, and comply with applicable obligations. Scholarship inquiries do not guarantee funding or treatment placement.

6. When We Share Information

We may share information with service providers that help operate our website, email, forms, and donation services; with partners when you authorize an appropriate referral; or when disclosure is required by law. We do not sell personal information. We do not publicly identify scholarship applicants or disclose sensitive recovery information without an appropriate basis.

7. Sensitive Treatment Information

Information about substance use and treatment can be sensitive. Please use the general contact form only for basic inquiries. If detailed information is needed for scholarship eligibility or coordination, we will explain the appropriate process and any applicable privacy protections before requesting it.

8. Security and Retention

We use reasonable measures intended to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for organizational purposes and applicable legal, accounting, or recordkeeping obligations.

9. Your Choices

You may contact us to ask about information you have provided, request a correction, or request deletion where appropriate and legally permitted. You may also manage browser cookies through your browser settings. Some information may need to be retained for legal or financial recordkeeping.

10. External Links and Children

Links to external sites are governed by those sites’ privacy practices. Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.

11. Policy Updates

We may revise this policy as our website, programs, and services change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date.
